Hydrogen (1H) based functional body MRI

We perform examinations of kidney function in patients, volunteers, and animals. The applied sequences typically include non-contrast blood perfusion measurements, oxygenation assessed using a BOLD sequence, tissue microstructure and fibrosis estimated by T1-mapping and diffusion methods, measurements of renal artery blood flow, and assessment of kidney sodium content using 23Na imaging.

Evaluation of liver fat using 1H spectroscopy and Dixon-based MRI sequences. Dixon sequences are also used to quantify total visceral and subcutaneous fat volume. For example, we have applied this method in studies of metabolic syndrome and evaluation of various dietary supplements.
